ABOUT ROSS

The Ross factory, founded in 1979, is located in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin. For over a century, generations of skilled workers have carved out a legacy of being home to some of the country’s most talented craftspeople. Ross is fortunate to be able to draw from these human resources.

Expert workers transform the raw materials of wood and metal into highly crafted musical instruments, unique in both their beauty and sound. This care and attention to detail accounts for Ross becoming a respected name in artist quality vibraphones, rosewood marimbas and xylophones, orchestra bells, and chimes.

Named for its founder, the factory manager of a well known Chicago based mallet instrument manufacturer, Ross today manufactures a wide range of models including marimbas and xylophones in two bar materials: premium Honduras rosewood and Ross’ exclusive Prolon.™

In addition to the great care given to materials and craftsmanship, Ross strives to provide instruments that offer the utmost in design, comfort, and playability. By maintaining close contact with leading percussion educators and performers, we are able to address issues and concerns that hinder developing percussionist in terms of the functionality and durability they need as well as professional performers in terms of the quality and sound they demand.
